I am now offering baseball cards from my private collection at www.cichlidsarespecial.com I collected baseball cards from the late 1960s until 1994. I lost interest in major league baseball after the 1993 strike. This strike forever ended the notion that major baseball was about the game, and not the money. Personally I think it damaged the game beyond repair. Today, I have a passive interest in the Philles and Orioles; but my main sport now is Nascar. I have been a Nascar Fan since the late 1960s, and the Richard Petty era. So when baseball screwed up it was a natural transition for me to switch back to Nascar. I am concerned, however, that Nascar is beginning to make some of the same mistakes that lead to the down turn for major league baseball.
In my opinion, major league baseball began going down hill with the free agent ruling in the early 1970s. The addition of the DH rule in 1973 caused a split both in leagues, and fans. Personally, I do not like the DH rule because it takes away too much strategy from the game. As such, I am a traditionalist that favors the National League. To me, the American League plays that other game. I am not sure what it is; but, its sure not baseball to me.
